|Snow rollers identified last week near Amherst|

Delvin and Shirley Claymon reported what Shirley calls Mother Nature’s snowballs in their yard a mile west and a half mile north of Amherst last Tuesday, March 18. The Claymons said there were probably 200-250 balls in their yard, with some pictured above.
These rare meteorological phenomenon are technically called snow rollers. Shirley had heard about them, as they were reported in Ohio and Pennsylvania in January of this year and in central Illinois in February.
