Nine applications for Carnival for Classrooms grant funds were rewarded by Partners in Education at the Friday, May 16, staff meeting in the Holyoke JR/SR High Commons Area. PIE president Jade Goldenstein reported that the annual Carnival for Classrooms was moved to the Phillips County Event Center this year and significantly more money was raised.
As a result, the group was able to award two $1,000 grants, five $500 grants and two $250 grants. Teachers submitted applications detailing how the money would be used, and applications were then evaluated by PIE and awarded according to merit.
