|Kurtis Huss Memorial golf tournament announced|
|Written by Holyoke Enterprise|
Thursday, June 7, will mark the First Annual Kurtis Huss Memorial Tournament at Holyoke Golf Club.
In honor of Huss, who died late last summer at the age of 25 after losing the fight to testicular cancer, all proceeds from the tournament will go toward the Kurtis Huss Memorial Scholarship Fund. The fund offers financial assistance for school to one student from Holyoke High School and one from Polaris Expeditionary Learning School in Fort Collins, where Huss taught English and social studies.
Huss’s parents, Gary and Joyce, began to plan the tournament shortly after their son’s passing. The idea is that the 4-person scramble will be a continual financial source for the scholarship fund.
