|7th year for local school supply drive under way|
|Written by Holyoke Enterprise|
School supply boxes are set up in five locations in Holyoke in order for community members to participate in the seventh school supply drive.
The first five years were coordinated by Phillips County Department of Social Services, who turned over the leadership of the drive to First Pioneer National Bank and Partners in Education (PIE) a year ago.
Most supplies go to elementary school students, but junior and senior high students are welcome to them, as well. Anyone wishing to be added to the list of recipients should call the elementary school office at 854-3411.
At this point, anyone can get involved by donating school supply items. Lists of needed supplies can be found at the grade school. Boxes have been placed in various locations around town, including First Pioneer National Bank, Holyoke Elementary School, Computers Etc., Deaver Hardware and Pamida Pharmacy.
Supplies may be deposited at any of these sites, and monetary donations may be made at the bank for the purchase of supplies.
Any donation can and will be used to ease the transition into a new school year.
Distribution of supplies will be held Tuesday, Aug. 11 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
