A young team, a heavy road schedule, and a more focused defense are a few of the biggest changes for the Holyoke High School volleyball team this season.
The Lady Dragons travel to Akron Friday, Aug. 29, to begin the regular season.
“Akron will be a good competitor to start the season,” coach Michelle Vieselmeyer said. “They are usually a tough rival.”
The Dragons stay on the road with matches in Merino Sept. 2 and a tournament at NJC in Sterling Sept. 6.
This year’s schedule only has the volleyball team home for four varsity contests, which include the home opener Sept. 13 with Caliche, the always highly anticipated “Pink Out” Sept. 19 with Burlington, Sept. 26 with Highland for the homecoming game and Sept. 30 with Idalia for Parents’ Night.
