Thelma Roggenbuck - April 27, 2010
Thelma Mae Roggenbuck, 70, was born May 30, 1939 in a two-room house southeast of Holyoke in Yuma County to Milton and Laurine Weiss. She died and went to be with her Lord April 27, 2010 in Holyoke after losing her battle with cancer.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 29 at Baucke Funeral Home in Holyoke from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 30 at 10:30 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Holyoke with Pastor Max Hines officiating. Interment will follow at Holyoke Cemetery. Baucke Funeral Home of Holyoke will direct the service.
Thelma was baptized at First Baptist Church of Holyoke and she graduated from Holyoke High School in 1958. On Nov. 4, 1959 she married Robert Roggenbuck in Yuma, and to this union, five sons were born: Milton, Michael, Robert, David and Paul. Thelma worked numerous jobs throughout her adult life, the last being Sapp Brothers Big C Motel in Cheyenne, Wyo. In 1997, Thelma and Bob moved back to Holyoke.
Thelma was a member of Rainbow in her high school years and was also a member of the Moose Lodge. She enjoyed a clean, well-organized home, a well-groomed yard, crafts and an occasional gambling fix, but above all, her favorite pastime was spending time with her family.
Thelma was preceded in death by her father, Milton Weiss; mother and step-father, Laurine and Roland Koch; brother, Larry Weiss; sister-in-law, Kathy Weiss; and sons, David and Robert Roggenbuck.
Thelma is survived by her husband, Robert Roggenbuck of Holyoke; sisters, JoAnne Stein and Georgia Hinck, both of Holyoke; brothers, Dallas Weiss and Ron Koch, both of Holyoke; sons, Milton Roggenbuck of Abilene, Texas, Michael Roggenbuck of Cheyenne and Paul Roggenbuck of Cheyenne; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
