Jodi Archer - April 23, 2013
Jodi Rae Archer died and went to heaven April 23, 2013. She was born Aug. 12, 1972, in Wray to Freddie and Sharlene Barker.
Jodi attended school in Wray and then attended Aims Community College in Greeley, where she received an Associate of Applied Science degree in office occupation/administrative support in 1992. After living in Greeley several years, she returned to Wray to farm with her father.
She met John Lee Archer, and they were married on Oct. 17, 2000. They had two children together: Jacy Jo and Jalyn Rae. Her two girls were her precious gifts. She also had two stepchildren, Josh and Jori Archer. Jodi also felt that Celena and Morgan Deschamps were her own daughters. They were always very close to her heart.
Jodi enjoyed farming and ranching with her father, cooking, gardening, scrapbooking and spending time with her girls and her family. Family was an important part of her life.
She was preceded in death by her grandpa, Earl Mekelburg; grandparents, George and Wilma Barker; and uncle, Joe Barker.
Jodi is survived by her husband, John Archer; children, Jacy and Jalyn; stepchildren, Josh and Jori Archer; parents, Freddie and Sharlene Barker; grandmother, Willa Mae Mekelburg of Yuma; sisters, Debie Gelvin and husband Kyle of Greeley and Wendy Keeler and husband Curt of Wray; five nieces, Celena and Morgan Deschamps, Brieahna and Brooke Keeler and Paige Gelvin; one nephew, Brayden Gelvin; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were held April 26 at Wray United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Wynkoop and Rev. Norman Stott officiating. Interment followed at Grandview Cemetery in Wray.

Spellman-Schmidt Funeral Home in Wray was in charge of arrangements.
