Ken Brammer - January 11, 2014


Kenneth “Tuff” Wayne Brammer, 76, died at his home after a lengthy illness on Jan. 11, 2014. Ken was born to Samuel C. and Dorothy Witt Brammer on June 10, 1937, in Sterling.

He graduated from Sterling High School in 1955, then joined the U.S. Army, serving with the 3rd Infantry Honor Guard in Washington, D.C., and a year with the 2nd Battalion Combat Team in Iceland.

On May 31, 1960, he married Mary Kathryn Sincock in Sterling. Ken farmed and ranched at Merino and was a MoorMan’s feed salesman in northeast Colorado. His hobbies were woodworking and reading.

Ken was preceded in death by his father, Sam Brammer; parents-in-law, W.C. and Mabel Sincock; son, Randall Brammer; and daughter-in-law, Melonie Smyth Brammer.

Ken is survived by his wife, Kathy of Merino; mother, Dorothy Brammer of Sterling; son, KC and wife Denise Brammer of Haxtun; daughter, Mary Kay and husband Doug Waitley of Sterling; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Jim and wife Sherry Brammer of Sterling; sister, Helen Stanley of Greeley; sister-in-law, Claudia and husband Jim Leonard of Redmond, Ore.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private family gathering will be held Saturday, Jan. 18.
