Chris Bartlett - July 09, 2009


Lifetime Burlington resident Christian Arthur “Chris” Bartlett, age 52, died Thursday, July 9, 2009 at his home in Burlington.

He was born Oct. 15, 1956 in Moab, Utah to James K. “Jim” and Ellen Marie (Jensen) Bartlett. He attended school in Kanorado, Kan. and Burlington.

Chris worked for Foster Lumber Co. in Burlington and Jim Kemp, before starting his own company, Bartlett Concrete Co. He was well known for his meticulous concrete work.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing. His hobbies included varmit calling and restoring old vehicles.

Chris is preceded in death by his sister Kaye Ellen Williams in 1979 and his grandparents Lena Schaffer, James K. Bartlett, Sr. and Ruth Bartlett Asher.

Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Jim and Marie of Burlington; sisters, Gwenn Kleweno of Burlington, Joyce and husband Dennis Weaver of Holyoke and Pam Luther and husband Don of Greeley. Also surviving is his brother Lynn Bartlett of Glenwood Springs.

His nieces and nephews surviving are: Gwenn’s children, Jessica Wolf and husband Michael of Kanorado, Kan. and their children Ethan, Emily and Ella, Ginger Kleweno of Norfolk, Va., LauraLee Richards, husband Jeff and son Bryce of Idalia, RJ Kleweno and fiance Abby Peterson of North Logan, Utah; Joyce and Dennis’s children, Tracy Steggs and husband Jerry of Holyoke and their children J.C., Parker and Reese, Mindy Richards and husband Brad of Idalia and their children Tyson and Trey, T.J. Weaver of Tribune, Kan. and Kalob and Becca Weaver of Holyoke;

Pam and Don’s children, Heather Travnicek and husband Steve of Colorado Springs and Josh Finley of Greeley; and Kaye’s son, Jerimy Williams and his children Mikayla, Logan and Alexia.

Chris will also be remembered by his faithful co-workers and many special friends.

Funeral services were Tuesday, July 14 at the Boy Scout Building in Burlington with Pastor David Williams officiating. Burial followed in the Fairview Cemetery, where he was laid to rest by his sister Kaye.
