Lewis Greenman - October 26, 2009
Lewis E Greenman, 76, of Amherst, died Oct. 26, 2009 in Amherst. Lewis was born Oct. 28, 1933 in Angola, Ind., the son of Robert and Frances Greenman.
After graduating from high school, Lewis served in the U.S. Army from May 6, 1953-May 4, 1956.
Lewis married and later divorced Mary Alice LaGrow and married Elaine Crayton Greenman, who preceded him in death.
Among the many places Lewis worked were Wayne Newton’s Arabian Ranch, Gypsum Creek Ranch and Crystal River Ranch/Anschutz. He was a horse jockey for many years, and was in the U.S. Army Mule Packers at Camp Hale/Fort Carson.
Lewis enjoyed fishing, hunting, horses and gold prospecting.
He is survived by his children Kurtis and Dawn Greenman of Rifle, Kim and Rick Olson of Eagle, Kent and Sharon Greenman of Amherst, Kris and Bill Whittaker of Eagle, Karen and Norman Carthy, Mary Ratliff and Tina and Eric Hanson; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters Jeannie and Bill Clingan of Hudson, Ind. and Loretta Smith of Dunkirk, Ind; and many friends from coast to coast.
